Modeled after popular Couch-to-5k plans, MPower's training program is designed for all levels of runners. We concentrate on proper form and pacing while we build endurance through a combination of running drills, games, and core strength exercises. Our program culminates with the optional running of the Celebrate! West Hartford 5K on June 7, 2026.Youth will train for the 5k road race over the course of 7-weeks. This is a non-competitive program with emphasis placed on each runner striving for their personal best and encouraging others to do the same. The program is specifically designed to allow both experienced runners and novices to experience success.Important Note: The race registration fee is not included in the program fee.What Kids Need to Bring:  Water Running Shoes / Sneakers

Instructor: Paul Ratcliffe NCAA Div 1 Player and Team Captain, Certified USPTA Pro 20 yrs, Big Sky Tennis Pro Staff 4:30 pm Youth 6-10 beginners5:30 pm Youth 7-12 adv beginners - intermediate 6:30 pm 13 + / Adult beginners - intermediate 4:30 pm: Youth Beginners:  6 - 10 Years No Tennis experience.  Students will learn the basics of tennis, scoring and beginning match play.5:30 pm: Youth Advanced Beginners-Intermediate:  7 - 12 Years Classes will cover more advanced strokes and match play for students with some experience.6:30 pm: Ages 13+ / Adult Beginners-Intermediate:  For those new to the game.  Classes will cover the basics of tennis as well as strokes, rules and scoring, or for players with recent experience.  Basic and advanced drills and doubles play will be covered.** Instructor Ratcliffe may adjust classes depending upon number of participants, and class make-up.  He will speak with parents and guardians as needed.In the event of a cancellation due to rain/weather, a make-up class will be offered.

Burlington Parks and Recreation offers group lessons year-round, under the direction of Pete Stankevich, PGA Golf Professional and Men's and Women's Golf Coach at the University of Hartford.   All classes will be at Chris Cote's Top Tracer Range in Southington.  The state-of-the-art facility is covered and heated so golf can be practiced in all types of weather. Adult Novice, Women Only, and Junior Clinics start at the beginning of each month and meet on the same day and at the same time for each of the 4-one hour sessions. Classes include fundamentals of the set-up, fundamentals of the golf swing, how to play with irons and woods, pitching, sand bunker play, chipping, putting, rules and etiquette, and much more.   Students can bring their own clubs or we will provide clubs for them to use during classes.Juniors  We offer Junior Group Lessons that consist of 4 one hour sessions covering a wide variety of topics. They are designed for the junior golfer (ages 7-14) who has never played before, as well as the more experienced player who wants to learn more about the game and improve their score.  Students may bring their own clubs or we will provide them for you.
