REFUND POLICIES
Programs are self-supporting and commitments need to be made to instructors and staff. The following are the Department’s refund policies:
- Refunds will only be given if requested 1 week prior to the program start date, with a fee of $5.00 per program cancellation. All requests for refunds must be made in writing the to the Parks and Recreation Department. (parksandrec@burlingtonct.gov)
- No refunds will be given for any unused portion of a program. Fees are not pro-rated.
- Foote Road Camp Refund- All requests for refunds will be subject to a $40 refund fee per child per week. All requests for a refund must be made 1 week prior to the start of camp.
- In the event of an injury or illness of the program participant less than one week before a program begins, a full refund will be processed if accompanied by a doctor’s note stating that the participant cannot participate due injury/illness during the dates of the program This only applies to the injured participant, and not any siblings who may also be registered in the same program.
- If a program is cancelled by the Burlington Parks and Recreation Department, a full refund will be issued.
SOLICITATION POLICY
Solicitation is not permitted on or at any Parks or Recreation property or facility except for operations at the Malerbo Concession Stand conducted by and for the benefit of the entity or group authorized by the Burlington Parks and Recreation Commission to operate the Malerbo Concession Stand.
INCLEMENT WEATHER & CANCELLATION POLICIES
If Regional School District #10 schools are closed, Parks and Recreation programs are cancelled. In the case of a delayed opening, generally 90 minutes, all a.m. programs will be delayed from the original start time, unless the start time is 10:30 a.m. or later. Participants/Parents will be notified via email and/or text message. We strongly suggest everyone register for mobile notification.
