Theater Program

Session 1: July 5th -14th  9am-12pm
The Lorax Grades 5-8
The class will read the book together and discuss the characters. As a group they will create their own adaptation of this classic tale with a performance on July 14thThe session includes acting classes and games to develop characters and ensemble building. 

Session 2
: July 5th-14th. 1-4pm

Shakesperience. Grades 9-12
Students read together A Midsummer's night dream, then collaboratively adapt and rehearse their own 30 minute version and perform July 14th. This session includes classes in advanced acting techniques and improv to create the production. 
 
Session  3: July 17th-28th   9am-12pm
Greek Mythology Grades 5-8
Students are introduced to Greek mythological characters from which they choose one to portray. The group will collaborate to write, rehearse and perform their original myth on July 28th. This session includes an introduction to Greek theatre acting styles. 
 

Session 4: July 17th-28th 1-4pm
Circus Showstoppers!  Grades 6-12
Students will collaborate to create a circus themed musical. Each actor must create their own character and write a detailed description of them. As a group we will discuss their characters and create a plot line. Prior to the session, students may submit music/song suggestion to the Director for consideration.  
They will rehearse and perform on July 28th
